Mixed Martial Arts is a unique sport because it was literally created as a professional entertainment spectacle back in the 1990s and now has millions of fans around the world. The growth of its popularity and the need for professionalisation led to the creation of the IMMAF in 2012 and after years of hard work in order to implement all protocols and policies that a sport governing body requires, the IMMAF has created a myriad of committees and commissions, including disciplinary, an specific one in anti-doping and an independent arbitration committee.
