Álvaro’s work focuses mainly on recurring advice on corporate matters and investment opportunities, financing transactions, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements for both athletes and celebrities, as well as on the resolution of disputes of all kinds between clubs, associations, agents, athletes, artists, and/or any other entity involved in these sectors.
In relation to the latter, Álvaro has already intervened in many proceedings both at national level (before labour, administrative, civil and commercial courts, as well as in arbitrations before the RFEF Internal Bodies, and LALIGA’s Football Arbitral Tribunal), and at international level (before the different bodies of FIFA, the Court of Arbitration for Sports based in Lausanne, or the International Chamber of Commerce). In addition to the above, Álvaro regularly acts as ad hoc clerk of one of the arbitrators of the Basketball Arbitral Tribunal (considered by the Chambers & Partners directory as one of the Most In Demand Arbitrators in Spain), having participated in nearly 100 cases before said tribunal so far.
More recently, a large part of Álvaro’s activity is related to recurrent and bespoke advice to top level football clubs, with a particular focus on the sports area, ranging from the contracting and transfer of players and coaches at both national and international level, to the resolution of conflictive situations within this area.
Álvaro has also collaborated in various specialised publications and he has participated as a speaker in courses and master’s degrees mainly related to football law.
